If you missed it, the summer show is back next June!
The Niche team had a wonderful day out this weekend visiting the BBC Winter Good Food Show at Birmingham NEC, which ran from November 23-26. With so much to see and do, we had a blast exploring all the different stalls and activities on offer.
The line-up of chefs and experts included James Martin, Nadiya Hussain, Michel Roux and many more, who will all took to the stage to cook up cracking Christmas recipes.
One trend that really stood out to us was the rising interest in game cooking. We had the pleasure of watching Sally Abé cooking up some delicious partridge with a parsnip rosti, and it was great to see so many companies offering a variety of different game meats. Another trend that caught our attention was the vast range of honeys available. We were amazed by the variety of flavours and textures, from light and floral to dark and rich.
Of course, no food show would be complete without plenty of sweet treats to try. We found ourselves torn between the tempting sweet samosas and cookie cakes, but ultimately indulged in The Sweet Scotch Eggs, which were absolutely divine.
Throughout the day, there was a range of activities to suit all ages. We enjoyed mystery tastings, Christmas canapé making, and even got to attend some book signings. It was wonderful to see so many families and foodies alike coming together to enjoy the festivities.
Other activities included cocktail masterclasses, festive knife skills, coffee tastings, cheese tastings, chocolate tastings and mystery tastings.
Overall, we had an amazing time at the BBC Winter Good Food Show and can't wait for the next one. It's always exciting to discover new food trends and indulge in delicious treats, and this event certainly did not disappoint.
The BBC Summer Good Food Show is next up from June 13-16, 2024.
