The best firework displays in Leicestershire this year

Real treats are in store for families this Bonfire Night.

Fireworks, roaring bonfires, hot food stalls, candy floss, sticky toffee apples, rides, and live entertainment. Leicestershire has some wholesome events for Bonfire Night in 2022.

Starting with Bonfire Night at the Great Central Railway, which promises to be a magical night out for the entire family.

Taking place on Friday, November 4, this is one of the biggest and best shows in Leicestershire with a huge bonfire, refreshments, children’s rides and of course an impressive firework display!

The main event will take place at the Quorn & Woodhouse station and visitors can travel there in heritage style by train from Loughborough, Rothley or Leicester North stations.

Gates will open at Quorn station from 6.15pm and it is essential to pre-book your place.

The later departures can get extremely busy so it is best to travel to Quorn on the earliest train possible to avoid disappointment.

Twinlakes, the family theme park in Melton Mowbray, will host its Bonfire Night event on Saturday, November 5.

Visitors can enjoy a full day at Twinlakes Park then catch the spectacular firework display in the evening.

You can save 15% on all pre-booked day tickets now, while Annual Pass holders will only pay £5 for entry.

When the sun sets, there will be great food and live entertainment on offer in the run up to the extended firework display.

As well as the usual big bonfire and fireworks display, the event will include live entertainment, a funfair and hot food stalls.

It takes place on Saturday, November 5 from 5-9pm. The park gates will open at 5pm, with live music and entertainment from 6pm.

The children’s firework display and the lighting of the bonfire will take place at 6.45pm, with the countdown to the main firework display starting at 8pm, with musical entertainment continuing until 9pm.

Visitors will be able to enjoy Motown, pop, and rock music by eight-piece band BluBeat. Plus, fire performers will be demonstrating their pyrotechnic skills.

History buffs can celebrate Gunpowder Plot Day at The 1620s House and Garden at Donington Le Heath.

The event will take place on Sunday, November 6, with a retelling of the story behind the Gunpowder Plot through a series of short scenarios, set in the charming historic house and gardens.

Visitors will be able to learn about the properties of gunpowder with the Open Rope Living History Group and watch a 17th century cannon being fired. Ear defenders will be available for anyone who has a sensitivity to noise.

Younger visitors can try their hand at themed craft activities, explore a fun trail and take part in the challenge to catch the dastardly Guy Fawkes!

CONKERS’ Firework Spectacular 2022 is a two-night extravaganza of fireworks on November 4-5, which will be held at this amazing visitor attraction in the National Forest.

Billed as ‘the best fireworks display’, this show is a pyrotechnic exhibition that comes complete with laser dancers, fire breathers and a laser show.

Tickets can be purchased now and it is best to do so early to avoid disappointment.

Following its spectacular comeback show which sold out last autumn, Leicestershire County Cricket Club is excited to be holding its stunning fireworks, light and laser display show once again.

The event will take place on Friday, November 4 at the Upton Steel Ground. Gates will open at 5pm, with the fireworks display starting at 7.30pm.

Visitors can look forward to the return of the funfair, which will include a new range of rides and attractions to keep the whole family entertained, and plenty of food stalls serving up candy floss, toffee apples and sweets, as well as hot food vans.
