Local businesses have partnered with Leicester-based mental health advocacy charity Lamp to put on a new golf day.

Marketing agency Cross Productions has been announced as the headline sponsor for the event.

The golf day will be held on June 14 at Lingdale Golf Course in Leicestershire and will be hosted by local recruitment agency Teamwork Partnership.

Richard Kotulecki, Lamp’s CEO added: “We’re excited about this fun event and encourage any keen golfers to take part.

"We’re very grateful to Teamwork Partnership for choosing to raise money for Lamp and to Cross Productions for being our headline sponsor.

"We hope the day raises awareness of the importance of looking after your mental health too. Good luck to all the teams taking part!”

On average, it costs around £750 for Lamp to navigate someone through the complexities of mental health and to empower them to rebuild their life after experiencing mental ill-health.

Proceeds from the charity golf tournament will be donated by Teamwork Partnership to Lamp to help the charity deliver mental health advocacy services to service users across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.

Jenny Cross, CEO of Cross Productions said: “Mental health is incredibly important for overall wellbeing and quality of life.

"As we are all very much aware, our mental health affects how we think, feel, and behave, and can have a significant impact on our daily lives. I believe employers have a responsibility to support their teams' mental health by creating a safe and supportive work environment, offering resources for mental health support, and promoting work-life balance.

“Cross Productions has supported Lamp in a number of ways over the past few years and are proud to become headline sponsor for this year’s Teamwork Partnership charity golf day where Lamp are the chosen beneficiary.

“Having worked alongside Teamwork Partnership since their inception, we felt it was a perfect fit working alongside friends, colleagues and business associates whose values are aligned, demonstrating a commitment to supporting mental health and wellbeing within their community.”

Other sponsors of the golf day include Dodds Solicitors; Sturgess Hutchinson; Royal Mail; Electrical Projects; Face Watch; LMP Legal; Invictus Comms; IQA; Rowleys Group; Agenda Partnership; Hlegal; Lithgo Press; Evolve Display; and Foxes Recruitment.

Refreshments will be delivered via a golf buggy throughout the round.

Following the game, teams will be able to enjoy a hot buffet evening meal and a charity raffle. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place, plus nearest the pin and longest drive.

Teams of four can book a place for £300 (£75 per player for a team of four) by contacting Dan at dan@teamworkpartnership.co.uk.
