Leicestershire Law Society Awards has extended its nomination deadline to Friday, February 24.
This year’s Leicestershire Law Society President Gina Samuel-Richards has been organising the event and has selected the unique theme of ‘Legacy – the future of law’ for the 2023 ceremony.
President of LLS, Gina Samuel-Richards, said: “The awards ceremony is Leicestershire Law Society’s flagship largest and most popular of the year.
"It brings together the legal industry from around Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, celebrating the achievements and recognising individuals and firms for their contribution to the legal industry.”
The Leicestershire Law Society is a centre of legal excellence boasting more than 700 members of local practising lawyers.
It holds an annual award ceremony that takes place in May each year. The venue and theme of the awards ceremony are selected by current President, Gina.
This year's headline sponsor of the awarding ceremony is ReviewSolicitors. The company runs a platform that allows the general public to have confidence in the legal industry.
So far, Leicestershire Law Society members have been putting companies and individuals forward that they feel have excelled in the legal sector.
Nominations will be examined by a panel of judges who will reveal their shortlist on Thursday, April 27.
This year’s judges are Sandra Pollock OBE of of Open Mind Training & Development; Trusha Lakhani of ActionCoach; Tim Hillier of De Montfort University; Steve Evans of University of Leicester; Jamal Jeffers, Barrister of KCH Garden Square Chambers; District Judge Asjad; and Andrew Goulter of Mattioli Woods.
Nominations can be made in the following categories:
· Barrister of the Year
· Chambers of the Year (Large)
· Chambers of the Year (Small)
· Legal Executive
· Solicitor of the Year
· Junior Solicitor of the Year
· Large Law Firm of the Year
· Small Law Firm of the Year
· Support Staff Member of the Year
· Trainee Paralegal
Nominate by 11:59pm on Friday, February 24.
The awards ceremony will take place on Friday, May 19 at Winstanley House.
