The Little Theatre aims to bring a new theatrical flavour to networking.
The Little Theatre in Dover Street is set to launch the pilot night of its new business networking club. An opportunity for businesspeople to meet, share a glass of fizz, have a tour of the theatre, and then settle in to watch that night’s production.
A different experience for those looking to meet other business leaders, reward employees, or court prospective clients, The Little Business Club will bring a new theatrical flavour to networking in Leicester.
As a registered charity, The Little Theatre’s business club can significantly bolster a company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. By aligning with the arts, businesses can demonstrate their commitment to cultural enrichment and community development. Supporting theatre fosters creativity and expression, contributing to a vibrant cultural landscape.
The pilot event will take place on Monday, July 1, and will include tickets to the opening night of the theatre’s comic play, The Darling Buds of May by H.E. Bates.
The event starts at 6pm in the theatre bar, allowing an hour for networking, drinks, and the backstage tour. The play starts at 7:30pm and will end by 10pm (a 20-minute interval is included).
Tickets are £25 for individuals, including the cost of your play ticket, a programme, and welcome drink.
For two or three people to attend, it’s £24 per person (£48/£72 total).
For four or more people to attend, it’s £22 per person (£88 minimum – add £22 for every additional person).
Tom Young, chair of the board and trustee for marketing, said: "This is an exciting move for The Little Theatre. The Little Business Club is an opportunity for us to introduce new people to our theatre, while also strengthen our own ties with the city’s business community.
"The Little Theatre has been producing high quality, amateur theatre for over a century, and we want to increase our footing within Leicester’s professional network, to find ways to collaborate and ensure the next 100 years of Leicester Drama Society.
"The Little Business Club will allow us to introduce ourselves, and also give its members a chance to network with each other."
Located in Dover Street in the city centre, The Little Theatre is home to Leicester Drama Society. Founded in 1922, the society has been producing amateur dramatics to professional standard for over a century and has seen the likes of Richard Attenborough and Joe Orton tread the boards.
With only a handful of paid staff, the venue is predominantly run by volunteers, with all actors, creative and technical crew, front of house, and bar staff involved because of their love of theatre.
The pilot event takes place on July 1, 2024, with tickets now available through the theatre’s website and box office (0116 255 1302). Membership for the full 2024-25 season will go on sale from June 10, 2024. Half season options will also be available.
