The Meetings Show 2022: Meet Leicester to showcase new venues for conference organisers

They'll be showing off Hotel Brooklyn and The Gresham.

Hotel Brooklyn

A £17m development from a Grade II-listed Victorian building and a New York Borough-inspired hotel in Leicester will be showcased at a conference in London this month.

Hotel Brooklyn and The Gresham, two major local hotel and aparthotel developments are to be promoted at ExCel London from June 29-30.

The official conference bureau for Leicester and Leicestershire, Meet Leicester, will be showcasing new venues for conference and event organisers.

Samantha Hall, Business Tourism Manager at Meet Leicester said: “The openings of Hotel Brooklyn and The Gresham Aparthotel show that our stock of high quality and diverse venues for conferences and events continues to rise.

"We’re delighted to be showcasing these venues and many others throughout the city and county at The Meetings Show this year.”

Adjacent to the Welford Road Stadium, home of the famous Leicester Tigers rugby team, the super-friendly Brooklyn brand is expanding to Leicester.

The new Hotel Brooklyn will be opening in the city on July 4 2022.

Hotel Brooklyn

The new 191-room hotel is inspired by the New York Borough, with an industrial aesthetic, impressive atrium, and exposed brickwork.

There will be a number of skyline suites, rooms with hot-tub terraces and executive suites with free-standing baths, dog-friendly rooms, and quirky, modern lead-in rooms.

There will also be spaces for sophisticated and fun corporate hospitality.

The new event room (which can be divided into three multi-functional rooms) aims to be accessible to all, capable of accommodating all manner of events from meetings, celebrations, weddings and even screenings, with its state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and lighting.

The opening of Hotel Brooklyn follows the recent launch of The Gresham Aparthotel.

The Gresham Aparthotel

Situated on the corner of Market Street and Belvoir Street in Leicester city centre, The Gresham is an iconic structure built in the 1880s, well known throughout the Leicester area.

The £17m development has seen this Grade II-listed Victorian building transformed from a department store (formerly occupied by retailer Fenwick) into a high-end, 121-room aparthotel.

It contains stylish serviced apartments with kitchen and en-suite facilities; an exclusive fitness suite; and laundry room for guests.

Completing the extensive development are four spacious commercial retail units and ‘Gresham Works’, 12,000 square feet of conference facilities and state-of-the-art co-working spaces.

Meet Leicester will be on stand A55 at this year’s The Meetings Show at ExCeL London from June 29-30.
