The iconic Leicester half marathon takes place on Sunday, October 1. 2023.

Starting and finishing at Victoria Park, the race will return to the city with over 3,000 runners expected to take to the streets on race day. This year also sees the return of the Run Leicester 10K which will take place at the same time as the half marathon.
"Leicester is home to such an incredible running community," said race director Andrew Ward. "We're delighted to be bringing this much loved event back to the city centre in just four weeks' time."
Whilst runners can still register for the event right up until September 27, they should be aware that the price goes up if they don’t register before September 17.
"Run Leicester has plenty to entertain the non-runners too, there’ll be loads of entertainment dotted around the route to keep energy levels sky high so we encourage everyone to come out on the day and soak up the atmosphere."
A number of road closures will also be put in place during the morning of the event to ensure everyone’s safety; full details of closures are available online, and for those wanting to come cheer everyone along, the route can be found here.
Sign-up today on the Run Leicester website, and be amongst thousands enjoying the electrifying atmosphere at the Run Leicester Festival on Sunday, October 1.
The not-for-profit event is entirely dependent on the generosity of hundreds of volunteers who give up their time in order to make it all happen. If you can spare a few hours on the day and are interested in volunteering, please contact leicestermarathon@gmail.com.
